PADI IDC AUDIT
Some PADI Instructors will find that they have a need or desire to audit a complete Instructor Development Course (IDC.)
This may be required by PADI in order to return to Teaching status after a lapse in PADI Membership. Requirements to regain Teaching status are based on several factors. Please be sure to contact PADI first to verify what is required for your particular situation.
Also, IDC Staff Instructors will choose to audit an IDC in order to gain valuable
and required experience in the PADI instructor development process.
Entry Requirements:
Any PADI Instructor may attend.
Course Materials:
PADI Instructors will need the latest version of the PADI Instructor Manual.
Equipment Needed:
The following equipment is required for the IDC Audit:
• Mask
• Fins
• Snorkel
• BCD with low pressure inflator system
• Single hose regulator with alternate air source device
• Submersible pressure gauge
• Depth gauge
• Compass
• Bottom timing device (computers are acceptable)
• Water resistant timing device (watch with second hand)
• Dive knife or tool
• Audible surface signaling device (whistle or other noise maker)
• Visible surface signaling device (tube or mirror)
• Underwater signaling device
• Pencil and underwater slate
• PADI RDP & eRDP
• Underwater lights (primary and secondary)
• Pocket mask & non-rebreather mask
• Logbook

Schedule & Dates:
Schedules for Status Updates are determined by the overall scope of content PADI requires for each individual instructor.
Status Updates are scheduled upon request.
Certification Awarded:
There is no certification for the audit. Upon full audit of a Pro Dive IDC, paperwork is submitted to PADI.
Price:
$395 Our course cost includes access to all classroom sessions, pool sessions, and boat and lake dives during a full IDC. PADI Member renewal fees are paid directly to PADI.
